Founded in 2004 by George Petersen and presented since 2015 by the NAMM MUSEUM of Making Music, the TECnology Hall of Fame honors and recognizes audio products and innovations that have made a significant contribution to the advancement of audio technology.

The TEC Awards span 22 Technical Achievement and seven Creative Achievement Categories.

The eligibility period for the annual TEC Awards June 30, 2019 – July 1, 2020.

The eligibility period places The NAMM Show, the global launchpad of new pro audio and sound production products, in the center of the cycle, and will help contribute to the most innovative nominee pool possible.

In August 2020, a curated group of industry experts from all facets of the pro audio and sound production industry comprise the Nominating Panel, that is tasked to narrow down the pool of product entries in each category to the final slate of nominees.

Final nominees are those products and projects that, in the opinion of the Nominating Panel, represent superior accomplishment in their respective fields.

Nominees for all TEC Awards categories will be announced in on September 16, 2020.

The voting period to determine the eventual winners will begin on November 19, 2020 and continue through December 31, 2020. Voting is available to a broad audience, including all professionals that make their primary living through the music, pro audio and sound production industries. Ballot access is promoted through major pro audio media groups and associations, as well as NAMM membership.

Winner names are kept in strict confidence until they will be announced as a special part of Believe in Music Week, the global gathering to unify and support the people who bring music to the world. Stay tuned for more information and stay up to date on www.tecawards.org for the latest TEC news!
